Euro tour 2008

Getting ready to leave next week on a month long tour of Europe as Night Night. I'll be supporting my friend and ex-roomie Jonah Matranga, who is a solo singer-songwriter (ex-Far, ex-Gratitude). We've been talking about the possibility of touring together/collaborating for some time, so I'm stoked that something is finally coming around. Taking an SK-1, an 80's Synsonics drum pad, a RAT pedal, my newly built Monome and, I dunno, a toothbrush. Sweet music. Will be adding some vocals to the NN music and reintegrating older songs into the set. Somehow.

Never been! What will I find? Are the streets lined with intellect and charm and history and overall radness? I expect that it's much like the states in many ways, but I really enjoy touring and seeing new places, getting new perspectives. It'll be good to meet some e-friends face to face and see my UK buddies Simon, Ferg and Gav.

It's vital to me that the Night Night thing be a positive outlet. A fun, casual thing and one in which I don't get too emotionally overwrought about. So deep breath and board the 747...

Will report as things get real-er.

Anybody know of a good restaurant in Barcelona?

Hey Dana,

It's great to see that you're out performing again. I don't think I've seen you solo since the Kandi's Rad release days.

Speaking of which, I really enjoyed your old solo pop work. Any chance you're thinking of putting out any new material, or at the very least setting up some NorCal shows?

Best of luck in Europe!

Thanks J - this tour has actually got me psyched about playing live again and I think it would be nice to recollect some jams that never saw the light of day into a proper pop release.

It's funny, 'cos I came over with the intent of electro-rocking, but it's been a primarily acoustic tour for me. Maybe that's 'cos I blew the power supply on my little mixer on the third show in Spain, but I'd like to think that it's just 'cos I was feeling it differently than anticipated. Hm.

Dana,

I'm glad to hear the tour has stoked your interest in playing live. Hopefully you feel the same way at the end of the trip as you did in the middle ;)

On that note, I saw that you're booked to play a show at Old Ironsides in late June. Hopefully it will be one of many to come!
