Effin' A
Finally, after 8-odd years of feeling nothing but the icy hand of marginalization and disenfranchisement, I feel like this one mattered. I feel good, but cautiously so. Amidst all the back-slapping and AP smiles, I had hoped to see some sober kind of accountability. Like, hey, we're still at war here. Thousands of people are still reeling from Katrina. Health care is broken. Etc. Just feels weird to celebrate I guess, when I know that it really won't mean much unless the People get Up. Etc.
Did you just yawn? Aw, man.
(I just watched a film called 'Berkeley In The Sixties' - full of fire and spilt guts, it's good - so I guess I'm feeling it, y' know? Get yr Gil Scott Heron on. The Free Speech movement, the Panthers, man, those guys were NOT dicking around. They were nothing if not committed.)

Anyway, accountability. In a weird way, that came from GW hisself in canning Rumsfeld. Obviously too little too late, and a lame concession at that, BUT - it wasn't the abject, flat, stupid, unrewarding Denial that the WHITE House (yeah man) has patently dumped on the lawn for the last 7 years. So for that, today, I want to thank George W. Bush. Thank you sir. You keep on Assessing.
Ah, it's late (early) and I'm rambling. I'm a Rambling Guy.
Wish I had more time.
