Night's the only time of day
Portland & Seattle t'were much silly fun. Sort of an extended lost weekend. Was great to see all of our friends (except Brenna, that bitch) and check out the Holocene scene. Hikes at Mt. Tabor, flying blind kittens, rad food, cheap thrift stores, afternoonfast at the Grand Illusion, Battlestar Galactica in mid-century condos, late-night snow panics, you get the point. Wait - "snow panics" sounds a bit suspicious, don't it? Well. Thanks to Xtina and Peter for putting us up in their house, awesometown. And thanks to Grammy for staying at home with the Jack while the old folks dusted their dancing shoes off.

Ski and I followed the States Rights/Birdman/Yacht/Panther/Fryk Beat crew around like lost, adoring puppies, catching their release party at Holocene and a smaller show at a gallery in Seattle. Both shows were really good times - I particularly dug Copy at Holocene, wow. Sine waves.

I had a show at a cool little bar called Dunes. A kind fellow named Mark was there, running the place and assisting my liver in achieving maximum toxicity. After my set, I DJ'd until, what, 4 in the AM? I dunno, but everybody danced! So there you go.

Was somewhat bummed that not one of the aforementioned Portland lap-pop crew made it out to the Night Night show. I just really wanted to see them there, I guess. Can't take it personally, of course. Oh well. Real peeps were in effect, so there you go again.

All in all, this last trip was further affirmation of how our collective heart swells for PDX and the Great Northwest. Maybe some day we'll have an opportunity to make a commitment, but for right now we'll keep flirting to the best of our ability.
YOUR FRIEND,
DANA
