"Shag Labs for Shelter" is a good Emo band name

I dream about the end of the world constantly. Last night, it was the sudden awareness that a huge, alien-plotted firestorm would engulf most of the earth. I remember thinking, but not really thinking, more like that sort of voice-over dream narration, that anything without modern structural reinforcement would fall and burn. This narration was accompanied by some visuals of a primitive, Wall Street Journalesque illustration depicting Washington DC being blown away, as if on a powerful breeze - of DOOM. And then we cut to a big, show-stopping CGI piece of the Arc de Triomphe falling over, but most of Paris' modern arch-i-torture standing still. Maybe the aliens are fascist-modernists.

Suddenly we're in my sort-of hometown of Missoula MT: My cousin Amy leads me through the chaos to her "father's secret laboratory" underneath a recording studio near one of the old apartments I grew up in. Is this getting desperately Jungian or what?

My family had betrayed me somehow, but Amy was still good, true, pure-heart, etc. The "lab" was wall to wall to wall dark blue shag carpet. I remember Amy showing me where the bathroom was.

Anyway I woke up needing to pee.

Rad Dad

Just found this piece by satirist Neal Pollack on his blog. Funny stuff, very much parallel to my experiences as Jack's papa:

Anyway, I haven't posted here in, like, for-ever. I'll get it together soon - there's so much I wanna write about, but just haven't felt the inspiration.

Oh, and I started a Vimeo page here: Vimeo is like Flicker for video content. I've got a few silly things up now, but will have more artsy-film stuff soon. Alright, then.

DANA
